We had a blast on Saturday visiting Jenna, Samuel, and Leo in Temecula!
Last week I got a text from Sam inviting us to a bbq in honor of the holiday weekend. We couldn't pass us the opportunity to hang out with the family, have good food, and test out the pool!
The doggies were anxious to go where ever we were headed, since this was their first trip to the new house, they weren't quite sure where we would end up. But after about an hours drive north, and a double check on my blk berry on the in town directions, we made it just around 3:30. The shin-dig had already began, with their friends the Coopers (their older son Skyler is pictured above with Heffe) and Jimmie kicking back enjoying the air-conditioner. Trust me, it is a luxury in San Diego, which I am always puzzled by since it gets HOT and HUMID around here!
Well, we were quick to pop back a couple appetizers and then we jumped in the pool to have some fun! Sam turned up the stereo and even the dogs got in the water. The babies were a little unsure of all the action, but enjoyed smacking their hands and making their own splish-splashes in the water!
Jenna grilled some home-marinated chicken breast, fresh salmon filets and some great hamburgers that were a hit! She made a side dish inspired by my "week-nite go-to side dish" of quick cooked green beans, splashed with vinegar and oil and whatever spices you feel like. Jenna's turned out perfect! So refreshing! We also had corn on the cob, a mixed summer-fruits salad, and chocolate lava cake for dessert. A perfect summer bbq.
We all sat around happy and full after eating. With babies napping, the girls relocated to the main room to talk babies and decorating, while the boys huddled in the rec room watching a new comic's routine on the streaming internet TV.
We literally drove off into the sunset, purples and pinks completed our beautiful day. Trevor and the doggies gently drifted off to dream land as the soothing sounds of the 15 south rocked them to sleep.
